Air Seychelles, the national airline of the Republic of Seychelles, has celebrated the graduation of 11 cabin crew from the world-class Etihad Airways Training Academy in Abu Dhabi.

The fourteenth group to undergo training at the premiere academy were personally congratulated today by Roy Kinnear, Chief Executive Officer of Air Seychelles, and Francisca Moonsammy, Head of Cabin Operations of Air Seychelles.

During the last six weeks, the group received state-of-the-art training on the Airbus A320 and A330 aircraft types which covered topics such as safety and emergency procedures, service and aviation security.

Mr Kinnear said: “We are extremely proud of our talented cabin crew for completing one of the most demanding courses in Airbus service and safety training in the industry.

“The fact that Air Seychelles has won the World Travel Awards accolade for best cabin crew in the region for three consecutive years is proof of the professionalism of our crew and a testament to the quality of training at the Etihad Airways Training Academy.

“With their smiles, warmth and friendliness, our all-Seychellois crew embody the ‘Creole Spirit’ of Air Seychelles and I am confident this group will make the journey to our islands unforgettable for many visitors.”

Ms Moonsammy said: “We are delighted to welcome this group of graduates to the Air Seychelles cabin crew family, who have a glowing reputation among air travellers for their passion and dedication to the job.”

The newly-graduated cabin crew include Caroline Jumeau, Elaine Pillay, Amy Victor, Ingrid Bouchereau, Elsa-Marie Laurence, Ryan Bonne, Dominique Rose, Manette Gabriel, Salman Camille, Tira Louange and Linne Freminot, who was crowned Miss Seychelles in 2015.

Ms Louange said: “Going through cabin crew training in Abu Dhabi was a great learning experience that equipped me with the right skills and tools for looking after Air Seychelles guests.

“The training emphasized that being a cabin crew is an opportunity to leave guests with a positive impression of Seychelles and act as an ambassador to our country.  In addition, my knowledge of Mandarin will contribute to more personalized services on the recently launched Air Seychelles Beijing flights.”

A total of 205 Air Seychelles cabin crew have now undergone safety and service training with Etihad Airways, a strategic partner of the Seychelles-based carrier.
