Air Seychelles has provided support for the upcoming Eco-Friendly Marathon by transporting a shipment of official t-shirts from Seoul to Seychelles.

The airline carried a total of 25 boxes of t-shirts, weighing some 675kg, from the South Korean capital, which will be distributed to all those who cross the finish line this coming Sunday.

Scheduled to be held on 25 February, the Eco-Friendly Marathon is held every year to promote health and fitness, as well as raise awareness about the environment.

The event, now in its 11th edition, takes place in the north of Mahé and attracts hundreds of local and international participants for its three main races, including two fun runs (5 or 10km), a half marathon (21km) and a full marathon (42km).

In addition to carrying the consignment of t-shirts, a team of 21 Air Seychelles staff will also be participating in the run this weekend.

Remco Althuis, Chief Executive Officer of Air Seychelles, said: “The Eco-Friendly Marathon has grown into a massive community event in Seychelles and is easily one of the biggest sports highlights of the year. We are thrilled that we have been able to support it this year and look forward to seeing everyone on the starting line this Sunday.”

Giovanna Rouseau, Chief Executive Officer of the Seychelles National Sports Council, said: “I am pleased that Air Seychelles has come onboard as a partner for the Eco-Friendly Marathon this year and we are grateful for their support in bringing the t-shirts all the way to Seychelles for the event.”
