Air Seychelles expands FedEx services on Praslin and La Digue
Air Seychelles, the national airline of the Republic of Seychelles, has signed an agreement with the Seychelles Postal Services that will enable it to expand its FedEx services across more locations on the islands of Praslin and La Digue.
From today, the express mailing service is available at the Baie Sainte Anne and Grand Anse post offices on Praslin, as well as the La Passe post office on La Digue. The service allows mail and parcels of various sizes to be sent to more than 125 countries worldwide, starting from SCR 510.*
Roy Kinnear, Chief Executive Officer of Air Seychelles, said: “Our FedEx service is a fast, reliable and cost-effective way of sending important documents and items, and we are delighted to collaborate with the Seychelles Postal Services to make this service available across the three biggest islands in Seychelles.
“We currently handle significant shipments with FedEx and are experiencing strong and growing demand from the services sector, where the speed of a shipment and the ability to track a package in real-time is critical.
“With more than 200 scheduled flights a week between Mahé and Praslin, and regular sea connectivity between Praslin and La Digue, it is possible to organise a FedEx shipment for immediate and same-day dispatch from Praslin or La Digue. This represents one of the fastest freight services on the islands.”
Customers wishing to send a FedEx shipment from Praslin to an international destination on the same day should bring their mail to the closest post office no later than 11am. The deadline for same-day international dispatch on La Digue is 9am from Mondays to Fridays.
Errol Dias, Chief Executive Officer of Seychelles Postal Services, said: “We are happy to be working with Air Seychelles to make the FedEx service, which is known around the world for its reliability and speed, more widely available in Seychelles.
“Our staff have been fully trained on the various processes and packaging standards of the FedEx service and look forward to offering this service to the general public.”
