Young footballers play against top teams in France with Air Seychelles’ support
Air Seychelles has shown support for Foot Access, a club for talented young footballers, by supporting a football trip to France.
Highlights of the trip included matches against the youth squad of US Concarneau and Hermine Concarnoise, two leading football clubs in the French region of Brittany.
In addition to the matches, the group of 10 to 15 year-olds experienced a week of intensive coaching.
Manoj Papa, Chief Executive Officer of Air Seychelles, said: “We are happy to have supported this trip, which has given Foot Access’ young players a chance to experience the high level of football in France.
“Air Seychelles strongly believes in the importance of engaging children in sports and athletics, both as a way of keeping physically active and teaching positive values such as teamwork.”
Emmanuel Couzigou, the owner of Foot Access and a football coach, said: “This was a great learning experience for the team, who had the opportunity to play against two top-tier youth squads in Brittany.
“The players are looking forward to putting what they have learned into practice so that they can play more effectively as a team.
“I would like to thank Air Seychelles for supporting this trip, which lays the foundation for stronger football in Seychelles and was a dream come true for our squad.”
As part of its commitment to the development of sports, Air Seychelles has previously supported St Michel United Football Club with tickets to Johannesburg for an important league fixture in South Africa, and worked with Etihad Airways to organise a series of football sessions for aspiring young players with international football legend, Patrick Vieira.
