Air Seychelles receives visiting CINEC delegation

Members from the Technical Operations Department at Air Seychelles were paid a courtesy call from the visiting CINEC delegation on Wednesday 07 June, at the national airline’s head office in Pointe Larue.

Air Seychelles and The Colombo International Nautical Engineering College (CINEC) have an MoU which was renewed last year, that sees the exchange between staff of
the airline and Sri Lankan trainees in the same department. Currently, Air Seychelles is accommodating a third cohort from the college, some of whom were present to welcome the delegation as well as to provide feedback on the exchange.

Discussions included other potential areas of corporation between the two parties such as further training opportunities for the airline’s staff at the institute and also ways in
which to expand the scope of the MoU to also include other areas of the company aside from the Technical Operations Department.

Although on a short working visit, Campus President Ajith Peiris was pleased to have been able to meet with the airline representatives and to touch base with the Sri Lankan cohort. “We are committed to train and up skill the staff through the multi-disciplinary programmes at CINEC and customized training, conforming to global standards, to enhance the operations at Air Seychelles.”

Air Seychelles’ Chief Operations Officer, Captain Mike Mousbe explains, ‘Professional enhancement of our staff is something we take very seriously, and we are on the right
track through our MoU with CINEC. Exchanges will now be made even easier with our direct service to Colombo starting this month.”

CINEC Campus in Colombo has a proud history spanning over three decades and has been able to establish itself as one of the most prestigious institutions in the region. CINEC has also been working closely with the Maritime Academy in Seychelles over the past ten years with the aim of upgrading certification to international standards and recognition.
